The Clos Figueras winery (Gratallops, DOQ Priorat) is preparing the 3rd edition of the Cheese and Priorat Wine Show. The fair will be taking place this Sunday, 10 April, 2016, and is going to be slightly different from the 2nd fair of Catalan cheeses and Priorat wines (2015). Well, yes, there will be stalls for wine makers and cheese farmers, so you’ll be able to enjoy taging these products while walking and browsing around. There are going to be wines from our county’s both wine appellations: DOQ Priorat and DO Montsant. According to Clos Figueras, cheeses are arriving from such counties as l’Alt Urgell, Osona, la Noguera, la Ribera d’Ebre and el Baix Camp. Quite a smorgasbord to choose from… However, there’s going to be a novelty: the idea, in fact, is to bring closer wines and cheeses, so the plan is to propose pairings. This means that, at the fair, there will be a special counter where attendants will be able tot taste wine-and-cheese pairings carefully prepared by the cheese-focussed sommelier Carles Mira.
