“Más claro que el vino” by Joseph Puig: an artistic perspective on the world of wine

Joseph Puig is a very charismatic character of the wine-making world. To some extent, this is to him that our artisan winery owes its existence in Priorat: Joseph Puig’s enthusiasm was so convincing that Josep Roca made up his mind to come here to Gratallops to elaborate his first Priorat wine: “Il·lia“.

The remarkable wine author keeps on revealing the world of wine to the public not only through his wines but his new literary creation: the novel “Noé: Más claro que el vino” (literally, “Noah: Clearer than Wine”).

The plot of the book is set on the premises of the “Vega Sicilia” winery in the DO Ribera del Duero.

The main characters of the book enjoy curiously funny names, all of them make a noticeable allusion to real people. We aren’t going to tell you the storyline or who were the true prototypes so as to encourage you to read this work that plunges into wine and the world around it. Although it’s long before the Diada de Sant Jordi, we think, though, that this can be an extraordinary gift for a family member or friend who’s keen on wines by and large, and on Priorat wines in particular.

The book was rolled out to the public at the “Via Veneto” restaurant in Barcelona, where it was besprinkled (literally and figuratively) with wine, no doubt. The “baptism” was followed by a presentation of his three new wines: “Red” (DO Montsant), “White” (DO Terra Alta) and “Tinto” (DOCa Rioja).
