Some places are more than just a setting. They are memory, landscape and origin. Escaladei is one of them. On 20 June, this village, so closely linked to the winegrowing history of Priorat, will host a new edition of Temps de Priorat Enoturisme, a gathering to enjoy the wines, gastronomy, olive oils and spirit of a region that is best experienced when shared at a leisurely pace.
At Celler Devinssi, we are delighted to be taking part. It will be a summer evening to meet again with people who already know Priorat, to welcome new visitors and to raise a glass, once again, to this land of wines, stone, light and conversation.
Escaladei, the cradle of Priorat wines
To speak of Escaladei is to speak of one of the great symbols of Priorat. Its name inevitably leads us to the Charterhouse, to the presence of the Carthusian monks and to the historical origins of vine growing in this territory. Long before Priorat became one of the most admired wine regions in the world, a way of understanding the relationship between the land, time and wine was already being shaped here.
That is why holding a wine tourism gathering here has a special meaning. It is not just about bringing wineries and visitors together in a square. It is, in a way, a return to the place where Priorat began to tell its story through the vineyard. It is a way of bringing into dialogue the past and present of a region that has managed to preserve its identity while opening itself up to the world.
An evening to taste Priorat
Temps de Priorat Enoturisme, Estiu, Escaladei will take place on Saturday 20 June 2026, from 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm, in the Plaça del Priorat in Escaladei.
The event will bring together more than 20 wineries with wines from DOQ Priorat and DO Montsant, in an open and relaxed format designed to discover projects, speak with people connected to the world of wine and taste different ways of interpreting this landscape.
There will also be olive oils and gastronomy, with the participation of several local establishments, as well as background music with a DJ and live wine presentations. All of this will create an evening for strolling, tasting, talking and letting oneself be carried along by the gentle rhythm of a June evening in Priorat.
Celler Devinssi is taking part
For us, taking part in Temps de Priorat Enoturisme is a way of going out to meet the public and sharing, glass by glass, our way of understanding Priorat.
At Celler Devinssi, we work from Gratallops, another of the emblematic villages of DOQ Priorat, with an outlook closely connected to the territory, the vineyard and the human experience of wine. We like to present wines not only as products, but as the expression of a landscape, a soil, a climate, grape varieties and a way of working.
At this event, we will meet again with other wineries, restaurants, producers and visitors in a collective setting. Because Priorat is not simply the sum of individual projects: it is a living network of people who grow, make, cook, welcome and tell the story of a unique region.
Wine, gastronomy and territory
Priorat is wine, but it is also olive oil, cuisine, dry stone, small villages, paths, terraces, conversation and hospitality. That is why a gathering like this makes so much sense: because it allows us to approach the territory through the senses.
The wines of DOQ Priorat and DO Montsant show the richness and winegrowing diversity of this corner of southern Catalonia. Each glass can be a gateway to a valley, an estate, a grape variety, a vintage or a family story. And, alongside the wine, local gastronomy helps to complete this reading of the landscape.
Tasting Priorat is not only about identifying aromas or flavours. It is also about understanding where they come from, who makes them possible and what kind of life lies behind each bottle, each dish and each product.
