Grapevine adopters’ newsletter (February, 2014)

Pel Febrer, treu flor l’ametller. (In February, almond tree blossoms. A Catalan saying)

This morning, I couldn’t help looking at the almond tree standing beside the vineyard… It’s already blossoming! Time flies.

February has been a good month for our winery. Temperatures went higher than on the same dates a year ago. I’m not sure if you remember that last year Gratallops landscapes were snowed under in late February.

We haven’t spent much time at the vineyards, however we were very productive. We pruned thoroughly the vines. We’ve seen some rain and wind, and by and large we’ve enjoyed lovely sunny weather.

There’s another project we’re working on enthusiastically: we’re arranging our cabin at the old vineyard. We want to take the most of it and arrange both indoor and outdoor wine tastings, bound to be an unforgettable experience during your visit to Priorat.

So what about tourism and cellar door sales at Celler Devinssi? Like in the previous month, we’ve been growing and broadening our horizons, and this time we’re starting a new collaboration with the Hotel Hostal Sport.

We’ve appeared on the web as well, here are a couple of blogs that have spoken about us recently.

So we’d like to wholeheartedly thank them for their reviews.

And we’ve been invited to offer our wine tours in Russian at a specialised guide catalogue.

This month, we’ve hosted a lot of very interesting wine tourists. These visitors enjoyed wonderful panoramas and untellable tastings.

We’ve hosted Sandy, our prescriber from China. She came over together with Esther of Excelling Wines & Food. We set up a special tasting of all our wines paired with local products. Could there be a better work meeting? They took with them a few cases of our wines to enjoy them within their circle back in China.

Another interesting visitor was a possible Finnish importer. As you can see, we never stop! As well, Esther and Montse of Excelling Wines & Food took our wines to a reverse wine fair where different importers showed their interest in our wines. Particularly some from England and Germany. We look forward to having them among our clients over some time!

That’s it for February news, a short but eventful month. Now we’re looking at it out of the corner of our eye. What will March bring us?… We’ll know it soon!
